Many people interested in “going organic” and purchasing only organic clothing become dismayed when they see that the price is generally somewhat higher than other types of clothing. Some even wonder if it’s some sort of conspiracy and believe that those who produce this type of clothing must be raking in the money.
The truth is that there are many factors that go into the making of organic clothing that automatically runs up the price.
The first of these is that many makers of organic clothing don’t make the millions of copies of an outfit that manufacturers of conventional clothing often do. Many organic companies are small family-run stores that struggle to have enough inventory for customers.
Another factor involves organic cotton. This type of cotton is more expensive to grow and yields less cotton per hectare than conventional cotton. Organic crops must still deal with weeds and pests, often using more expensive natural herbicides and pesticides. This makes fabrics made from organic cotton overall more expensive.
Organic cotton is more expensive to harvest than regular cotton. The conventional cotton companies use chemical additives in order to facilitate harvesting by the harvester machines. While chemical defoliation improves harvesting, it adds to the chemicals left in the cotton garments people wear. Organic cotton harvesting relies on no chemicals resulting in a
somewhat lower yield.
Finally, many organic fabrics are more expensive to manufacture. The lower harvest yields increases the costs of cleaning and preparing the raw cotton. In addition, because organic cotton processing is done in factories that produce regular cotton, all of the machines, cotton gins, weaving and knitting machines must be thoroughly cleaned before the organic cotton can be processed. This adds to the cost.
Sadly, labor costs are less in conventional clothing manufacturing, which often relies on cheap labor or, in some instances, child labor, to manufacture. This type of practice would generally be considered unacceptable for manufacturers of organic clothing. One exception is the silk industry, which relies on millions of hand loom operators in India to make the organic silk products.
An example of how conventional fabric manufacturers have a leg up on organic clothing manufacturers is a company, which makes cotton tank tops for Wal-Mart that pays a total of thirteen cents per hour in sweatshops in Nicaragua and other developing companies. Organic clothing manufacturers would consider this unethical and can’t keep up with those kinds of
Organic clothing is more expensive to ship, distribute and provide to retailers and customers. This is because the market size is so much smaller than the big retail stores and the per garment cost to ship is greater. In addition, organic clothing stores must pay more for advertising and marketing of their products. The customer base is less dense and more
advertising must be done to reach an appropriate audience.
The economics of organic clothing sales are such that growers, manufacturers and retailers lack the buying power of the bigger superstores and retailers. The production of organic clothing is still a very small part of clothing manufacturing so that everything from harvesting to packaging becomes a bigger process.
For those who love organic clothing, however, the cost may be worth it. The environment is helped by the purchase of organic clothing and the clothing itself carries less of a health risk than conventional garments.
Do you remember when you were a child and you found time capsules to be so interesting? I know I did. I can remember looking at a time capsule filled with artifacts from several decades prior to that time and I just sat and stared in awe of what was inside.
The artifacts in the time capsule were things like magazines, newspapers, photographs and records dating back to the time when the time capsule was buried underground for unearthing years later.
Now, if you have kids, think about how much fun it would be for them if you created a time capsule with things that will be considered artifacts when the capsule is opened in fifty years. You can make it into a fun game where your kids can brainstorm ideas of what they would want to include in the time capsule that would be good artifacts and examples of this day in age and a representation of your family.
They will probably come up with a ton of crazy ideas. However, let them figure out what they would like to include and then whittle the list down from there. Some ideas for artifacts include a current model cell phone, an mp3 player, some photographs, newspapers and magazines from the current month and possibly some candy that people can look at and compare to the candy in the future.
The fun will come when your kids will help formulate what you will put in the time capsule and then you can watch the excitement in their faces when you prepare to bury the time capsule and then cover it for release in 50 years. Be sure to record it somewhere so your children or their children will be able to open it at that time to take a look and compare what has evolved between now and then.
This can turn in to a fun and educational game for your children that they will no doubt remember for the rest of their lives. They could even do a demonstration of it in their classrooms and maybe inspire other children to pursue time capsules full of family artifacts of their very own.
It will also be fun doing it together. There are so few activities anymore where kids and their parents can really get into it and do it together all while having fun at the same time. Your kids grow up so fast that it is important to take the time to help them grow and learn while spending as much quality time with them as you can.
Before you and your children know it, they will be grown up and have children of their own. Seize opportunities to create lasting bonds that will last more than a lifetime. When they open the time capsules, they will no doubt remember the good times you had together and your work as a parent will be done. Then hopefully they will carry on the tradition with their own kids and grandkids.
Many business owners are searching the internet to find information that deals with an advertising marketing plan. In reality, advertising and marketing are two different animals, although closely related. Marketing refers to the whole product service mix which includes those famous four “P”s: Price, Place, Product and Promotion. Advertising is just a part of the mix and of course, it fits within the Promotion aspect of marketing.
Within the marketing scheme, you need to establish a price-point for your product or service. You also need to set up a channel through which you will offer your product/service (this is the Place part of the mix). The product or service itself is a vital part of the mix. . .and then we get to Promotion which includes advertising.
In today’s internet economy, you can actually do certain forms of advertising which are free. Some of these advertising options include online classified advertising like CraigsList or US FreeAds. Perhaps one of the most effective free “soft advertising” methods makes use of the many social media sites that are now available. The key word in this type of promotion is “social”. In order to be effective, you need to stick to the social etiquette that is required. No spamming or hypey activity is allowed.
coming up with a solid advertising marketing plan will most likely take some trial and error. But there are some tips that can help you get going.
The most important is to understand who you are advertising to–in other words, know your target market. And know it very well. A thorough understanding of this will make your plan much more successful. Getting it wrong will set you up for failure. This will require quite a bit of research which cannot be skimped on.
Next, set your goals. Identify what you want to get in return for your advertising (recognition, sales, brand identity, etc) and set specific short-, mid- and long-term objectives.
Then you will want to do some brainstorming to come up with the actual advertisements. Create a rough draft. This is just the start. It will most likely be revised over and over again as you figure out what is doing well and what isn’t.
Which brings us to tracking, testing and tweaking. You need to have tangible results with every ad that you place. This is harder to do with magazine, television, newspaper or radio advertising. But online advertising very much lends to tracking. Analyze your results and make necessary changes. Sometimes just one word can make all the difference in advertisement conversions.
Research advertising agencies to find who you will work with best. If possible, go for those who are specifically expert in advertising your business niche.
Using the correct advertising marketing plan is a process. Taking action and getting help from professionals can help you get started.
For anyone who has, or wants to have, and affiliate marketing business it’s important to realize that like any other type of business you will need to learn how to do it. Affiliate marketing is an easy business to learn, but it will still take a little time and effort if you truly want to be successful. This article can be your affiliate marketing guide and can help you get started on an exciting new career.
Sometimes when something is too easy people tend to take it for granted and not take it seriously. I’ve seen this happen to many would be affiliate marketers. In order to be successful you can never treat your business like a hobby. If you learn your trade and work at it consistently you can make virtually unlimited income.
The biggest focus of your affiliate marketing business will be to get a steady stream of qualified visitors to your website. There are many methods you can use to do this, some of them are free and others cost money…some times a lot of money. The key thing to remember is that you want qualified visitors. What does that mean? It means people who are actively looking for the product or service that you are offering and are ready to buy. You don’t just want to attract a lot of ‘tire kickers’.
In order to get qualified visitors there are specific things you can do to attract them. For one thing, if you are using article marketing ( a method where you submit an article that offers valuable information about the product you’re promoting to be published by an article directory) than you know that anyone who is clicking on and reading your article is obviously interested in your product or service.
When you are using Pay Per Click or PPC ( a method where you place an ad on a search engine targeting a specific keyword and you pay when someone clicks on your ad and is taken to your website) than you want to make your ad as specific as possible. For example, if you are selling T.V. ‘s don’t place a generic ad that says “T.V’s for sale”. That’s way too general and you’ll get a lot of people who are just looking.
If, on the other hand, your ad is very specific like: “Sony 52″ High Def, Flat Panel T.V’s For Sale” then you will get more people who have narrowed down their search, know exactly what they are looking for and are ready to buy.
Getting qualified visitors to your website is part one. Part two is to turn as many visitors into customers as you can. One great way to do that is to have an email list that they can sign up to. Offer them something of value such as a free report if they sign up to your list.
Then your autoresponder service ( a service that will automatically send out emails over whatever period of time you choose. You just write the emails, pre- load them into the autoresponder, determine how often they should go out and anyone who signs up to your list will receive the emails one at a time starting with number one and going all the way through the series) will help you build a relationship and trust with the people on your list.
Just make sure that when you send your emails you don’t just send one sales pitch after another. If you do that people will un-subscribe from your list. Instead, offer them valuable tips and add a P.S. explaining the benefits of your product or service.
Affiliate marketing is a fantastic career. To get started use the information in this affiliate marketing guide and continue to expand your knowledge.
Food poisoning is an all-encompassing term involving the consumption of contaminated food, stomach flu, stress, drug interactions, nutrient deficiencies or their excess. It can come on rather suddenly after eating; diarrhea or vomiting can begin 30 minutes to one hour after eating foods that are chemically poisonous; within one to 12 hours with bacterial poisoning, and 12 to 48 hours with viral or salmonella poisoning. Food poisoning can be serious and a medical professional should be contacted especially if it is accompanied by a difficulty in swallowing, speaking or breathing; if there is a fever of 100 degrees F; if the person can’t even hold down liquids; if there is severe diarrhea of more than two days.
The best remedy is to curtail eating until all the symptoms have subsided and the toxins have had the chance to exit your system. Drink plenty of fluids – vitamin C and blackberry and peppermint teas can be taken then to strengthen the stomach, along with yogurt that contains acidophilus to recolonize the lost flora in the bowel. Diluted sweetened drinks can also be consumed to replace the body’s lost fluid and electrolytes, and the BRAT diet (bananas, apples, rice and toast) can also be helpful in getting the toxins cleared from the body.
As a precaution against food poisoning, great care should be taken when preparing foods. Avoid over-handling foods, and when in doubt, throw it out – don’t take a risk with leftovers if you’re just not sure how long they’ve been in your refrigerator.
Mint, lemon, raspberry, chamomile or teas might also be helpful in easing the stomach pain associated with food poisoning or stomach cramping. Ginger tea is also good for settling an unsettled stomach, and promotes good digestion. Try to get plenty of rest as food poisoning can be an exhausting and nutrient-depleting chore for your body. Once you’re feeling better, be sure to eat a well-balanced healthy diet that includes foods rich in iron, zinc, vitamin C to help your body get back to its old self again.
Recent dietary research has uncovered 14 different nutrient-dense foods that time and again promote good overall health. Coined “superfoods,” they tend to have fewer calories, higher levels of vitamins and minerals, and many disease-fighting antioxidants.
Beans (legumes), berries (especially blueberries), broccoli, green tea, nuts (especially walnuts), oranges, pumpkin, salmon. soy, spinach, tomatoes, turkey, whole grains and oats, and yogurt can all help stop and even reverse diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and some forms of cancer. And where one might have an effect on a certain part of the body, it can also affect the health of other body functions and performance, since the whole body is connected. With these 14 foods as the base of a balanced, solid diet, weight loss gimmicks and other fly-by-night programs can become a thing of the past in your life.
Conversely, the ill-effects of an unbalanced diet are several and varied. Low energy levels, mood swings, tired all the time, weight change, uncomfortable with body are just a few signs that your diet is unbalanced. An unbalanced diet can cause problems with maintenance of body tissues, growth and development, brain and nervous system function, as well as problems with bone and muscle systems.
Symptoms of malnutrition include lack of energy, irritability, a weakened immune system leading to frequent colds or allergies, and mineral depletion that can trigger a variety of health concerns including anemia.
And since the body is connected, realizing that an unhealthy body will result in an unhealthy spirit only makes sense. When we nourish our body with these superfoods and complement them with other nutrient-dense and healthy fresh foods, our spirit will be vitalized and healthy as a direct result.
Many modern diets based on prepackaged convenience foods are sorely lacking in many vitamins and minerals, which can affect our mental capacities as well, and cause irritability, confusion, and the feeling of ‘being in a fog’ all the time.
Superfoods can be the basis of a sound, healthy, nutritious solution to curing many of these ailments and more.
Although there are many training tips for Golden Retrievers, teeth is the most common. Golden puppies love to chew, and will chew anything they can get. Although chew toys are preferred, there is a way that you can help your Golden fulfill his natural instinct to chew, and help him to ease the pain of teething as well.
To start, simply fill an old sock you have with several ice cubes. Next, put a knot in the sock and place the sock with the cubes in the freezer. When your puppy starts to chew on things, simply give him the sock. You can keep several socks with ice in it in your freezer if you want, so your puppy will always have a chew toy. Although this is great to use, you should never leave your dog alone with the sock. He could end up chewing the sock and swallowing pieces of it, which could lead to very serious health problems.
During leash training, a lot of people prefer to attach the leash to the Golden then drag him in the direction they want him to go. This isn’t the best way to train, as it often sends the wrong signal to the puppy. Instead, you should first get your Golden puppy used to the collar and the leash. You can do this by putting his collar and leash on inside the house or outside in a fenced in area, so that he can walk around and move about freely with the leash on, dragging it alongside him.
Once you have given him some time, pick the leash up, then start calling him to you. Once he comes over to you, start praising him for it, so he knows that he is on the right track. Always be patient when leash training, as it will take some time for him to get used to it. If you continue to praise him when he is doing it right and continue giving him time to get used to the leash, you shouldn’t have any problems.
Digging is something that Golden Retrievers love, as it is essential to their nature. Digging can be somewhat frustrating if you don’t give your Golden an area to himself, as he will dig holes in your yard. If you keep your Golden indoors, he may try to dig in the floor, on the couch, or on the bed. Digging is part of their nature, and you should never punish a Golden for digging.
To help him fill this need, you should give him an area to dig in. You can get him a kiddie pool or sandbox, filling it with either soil or sand. Then, try burying a treat or toy in inside, so your Golden will dig to get it out. Once he learns this is where he should dig, he will more than likely head to that area when he has the need to dig. Later on, when he becomes a bit older, you should invest in obedience training classes that will help him to get his digging habits under control.
The above tips can help a great deal when training your Golden Retriever puppy. Golden’s are great dogs, although you’ll need to have a bit of patience with them. Even though they are very smart dogs, it may take them time to learn. Once they start learning however – they will become an integral part of your family that you couldn’t begin to live without.
Time is the most precious value we have. Time is the greatest equalizer of human beings. If we don’t ant to admit his and to treat time with respect then we will only have to lose. It doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, healthy or sick, you will only have 24 hours a day either way, and you should try to use them wisely.
Most of the times, we waste our time and energy worrying and thinking about things like how to win more money and how to leave a better life. Well, when we do this we usually forget about the most important think – the time to live our life in. A wise man will always tell you: “You can always make more money, but you can never buy more time”.
How many times are we aware of the ways we invest our time? And the word “investment” is the most accurate because the way we choose to spend our time is a true investment in ourselves and our own lives. And you will never find the true value of time in the way people around you act and talk.
People usually spend time for hours in front of the TV, or they spent a lot of time browsing the net with no purpose whatsoever. Some of us even try to steal more time with the cost of many healthy sleep hours. If you wake up earlier in the morning just to smoke a few cigarettes and to fill your self up with coffee so you won’t feel sleepy it doesn’t mean you won quality time. Also, inefficient work or spending more hours at work that you have to is equal to borrowing your life to someone else.
Everyone always says things like: “I’m just counting the hours to go home” or “I wish it were Friday” on a Monday and so on. These are just signs that those persons usually waste their time. If you organize our time efficiently and if you choose to do only activities that motivate us somehow, then we will find ourselves able to work everyday without feeling tired or sleepy.
At any moment that you just let time pass by you think about what Romans said:”Carpe Diem” – it has a great meaning for our everyday life, it means “Live the day” or better said “Organizeyour day”. Make more time to analyze the way you invest or waste your time. And never forget that you can’t tell anything about tomorrow so “Carpe Diem!”
Many people talk about the wonders of trading and how it can be best approached, but knowing how to establish and identify your entry signals can mean a lot to setting the right path to trading, therefore, a basic introduction to trading must be in order.
The primary goal to trading is for profit, since the penultimate goal for it is to sell for a profit. But do take note that trading is like gambling, where one cannot determine or tell what exact market forces are at play and what it can ultimately do to spell your trading choices.
Self determination is another key to your trading success. No one will tell you what to do next, you have to plan for yourself, expecially since there are no hard and fast rules for this career.
Other people may tell you what to do, and they could be right for a time, but do try to consider that the point is that the market fluctuates, and trading is about watching the market, analyzing it, and acting on your own.
Understand and manager your opportunities and risks.
All those people grabbing opportunities mean that the really good ones go away.
The random opportunity that most likely pops up in a trader’s life is a crisis in supply. Something has interrupted the normal flow of supply and demand, dramatically raising the price and this is a temporary chance.
Others will also be jumping on opportunities the same as you do. These may be the regular suppliers, those with surplus stock or another trader with a source elsewhere.
Wisely judge the risk and make your move.
Scamming is a career for some, so always be wary of people offering cutthroat deals or tempting offers. Thoroughly read the conditions of a contract, count zeros, and just be aware of every possible fine print on documents before signing.
Gambling to win means not letting the house make the rules. The difference between luck and success lies in the amount of risk managed. Sometimes you could get lucky and at other times not, so risk analysis and management lie at the heart of any method that can be termed reliable.
Setbacks happen and this is a risk in trading, where there are casualties and losses. Play at the stakes and risk levels you can afford, don’t lay down all your cards and have nothing left to pick up on. Make every effort to know the market. This will help a lot in determining how you could establish the ins and outs of the market you are in.
Every trader needs to know his territory, and those item markets he is interested in
Trading is a world of compound interest, challenges and opportunities. One can invest in buying and selling more items in a single item market, you can pick up when you fell there is a slack on one item or you can diversify into other types of items.
The nature of the market is purposeful chaos. This is so because the market is the aggregate actions of thousands of people, therefore it cannot be trusted. It will change on you at the flick of a finger, void plans, erase profits, render prior knowledge obsolete or even render you penniless if you don’t play your cards right.Patterns change, so don’t just rely on it totally. As what the previous point indicates, one day it could be favorable for you, but that can change the next day, even the next hour or so. So this is a basic introduction to a trading mindset and this can help you be on your way to more profitable gains and calculated risks.
Some people say you are a smart-alek. Other people swear by your knowledge and continually ask you to share your knowledge.
You like teaching and helping others, so why not let them in on what you know?
You never really did have an interest in becoming a teacher, but as you get older and older and your knowledge in your
chosen field continues to grow, you are starting to feel the need to teach others about what you know and how they can
become experts in the field like you are.
No matter what your field, your knowledge can be important to others who want to know more about it. But you do not have to
start teaching college courses or go back to school to earn a teaching certificate to start sharing what you know with others.
Instead, look into teaching some continuing education courses to share your wealth of knowledge with others. Continuing
education courses are a great way for teachers to share what they know with students who are generally interested in the
College and universities that offer continuing education programs are also eager to have you! They are constantly looking
for people to teach about popular topics and even some not-so-popular ones. What they want to see if that you are enthusiastic
about your subject matter and that you really know what you are talking about.
You do not necessarily have to have an advanced degree to teach continuing education courses. Instead, the best thing to
have is experience and respect in the industry. Examples of professions that are constantly in demand for continuing
education courses are things like art, photography, fashion design and writing.
You will have to commit to teaching the class for an extended period of time in order to be hired for a teaching position.
You will also have to come up with lesson plans to show to the continuing education coordinator before the class starts so
they will know you are serious about the class and teaching others about what you know.
So how can you find out about opportunities? The best way is to find out where continuing education courses are held in
your community and ask if your services could be used in an upcoming course. If so, ask them how you could go about starting
a class of your own. Most coordinators will be delighted to have you. If they are not delighted, simply move on and find a
program that is interested in your unique skill set.
Do not keep your knowledge to yourself. Teach it to others in a continuing education course and help those students learn
more and become a better person in the field, just like you. They will get the satisfaction from having the knowledge and
you will feel good about helping people learn about themselves and the subject matter you love so dearly. There really is
no better feeling than helping someone learn something they did not know before.
